AGENCIES, BHUBANESHWAR: Goa University registered a comprehensive 3-1 win over Punjab University, Chandigarh in the first match of women’s football in Khelo India University Games at Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Goa University started well with attacking pace but could not convert their chances. In the 45th minute, Punjab University took the lead as Goa failed to deal with a long pass in the penalty area which was smartly finished by the Punjab forward.
In the second half, Karishma Shirvoikar scored the equaliser for Goa.
Goa’s Scintia Saundatikar scored the second goal from a free-kick from outside the penalty area.
Karishma Shirvoikar dribbled past the opposition goalkeeper and scored the third goal for Goa University.
Goa University will play KIIT University with an opportunity to move into the semi-finals.
