Goa Velha move into last eight

CALANGUTE: Goa Velha Sports Club defeated Calangute Association 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of Parra Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organized by PVC Association, Parra at PVC ground, Parra, Thursday.

After failing to score during the first session, Calangute took the lead in the 50th minute through Francis off Alber who latched on to the rebound.  Goa Velha levelled the score off a free kick by Vishant Pednekar with a few minutes from the final whistle.

The winners were decided on penalties.  Goal Velha won 3-2.  Vishant, Reagan and Jerard converted for Goa Velha while Finito and Vijay found the mark for Calangute.
