MAPUSA: Goa Velha Sports Club registered a 5-4 win via tie-breaker over Chapora YS to move into the quarter-finals in the inaugural match of Late Shruti Pednekar Memorial Football Trophy organised by Siolim Sodiem SC, at Siolim Ground, on Saturday.
In a well-contested match, the teams were locked in a goalless draw at the end of the regulation time. To decide the winners, the tie-breaker was implemented wherein for Goa Velha SC colts Yogendra, Ashok, Geraldo, Lokesh and Agnelo scored on target while for Chapora YS outfit Dinesh, Abhishek, Aniket and Soma were on target.
