SIRLIM: Goa Velha Sport Club edged past Dicarpale Sport Club via the tie-breaker 7-6 to move into the quarterfinals of the 23rd All Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter-village tournament at Our Lady of Hope church ground, Chinchinim, on Friday.
In the second minute, a powerful shot by Chatur Naik of Goa Velha was well saved by the Dicarpale keeper Ryan Kispotta.
After changing sides, Dicarpale Sport Club started pushing for a goal and were successful in the 43rd minute through Agnelo Colaco. In the 52nd minute, Chatur Naik’s effort hit the crossbar. In injury time, Joseph Rodrigues equalised for Goa Velha.
In the tie-breaker Goa Velha Sport Club proved to be better shooters
