MARGAO: Goa Velha SC defeated Cuncolim Union, 2-1, to enter in the quarter-finals of the Navelim Villagers Union Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Navelim Villagers Union and played at Rosary ground, Navelim on Thursday.
Rosario Carvalho gave lead to Cuncolim Union which was later cancelled by Franky Cabral. The winning goal for Goa Velha SC was scored by Joseph Rodrigues.
Dr Francis Lobo, general secretary Navelim Villagers Union, presented man-of-the-match to Joseph Rodrigues of Goa Velha.
