MAPUSA: Goa Velha Sports Club edge past Holiday Sports Club, Arpora 6-5 via the tie-breaker to enter the quarter-final of 9th all-Goa Pio Jose Goveia memorial inter-village football tournament, organized by Youth Sports Club of Caolvale, at church ground, Colvale, on Thursday.
The teams were tied 1-1 at full time.
Goa Vlha started at a brisk pace and went ahead in the fifth minute through Revelino D’Souza.
Arpora tried hard to bounce back in the macth and equalized in the 27th minute through Stanley Coutinho.
Man-of-the-match was awarded to Shubham Malvankar of Arpora.
On Wednesday, Nerul Sports Club were awarded a walkover after Football Club of Siolim failed to turn up for their pre quarter-final match.
