NAVELIM: Lalawmpuia scored a fine brace to help Goan FC consolidate their position at the top with a 3-0 win over Corps of Signals in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League match played at 3 MTR ground, Signals, Navelim, on Friday.
Aaren D’Silva was the other goal scorer for the winners. The win took Goan FC’s unbeaten run to 12 games.
After dominating the match in the initial stages of the game, Goan FC were successful in taking the lead in the 21st minute through Lalawmpuia who on controlling a cross from Liston Colaco made no mistake in shooting past the helpless rival keeper.
Liston Colaco, Aaren Silva had their chances but they failed to keep their composure infront of the rival goal.
Finally, Lalawmpuia doubled the tally in the 41st minute when he dribbled past a couple of rival defenders after receiving a pass from Aaren, to complete his brace.
Corps of Signals were all over the place but couldn’t match Goan FC’s pace.
Crossing over, Goan FC, who otherwise had a fine outing, continued their dominance in the second half and inflated their lead when a Kinglsee Fernandes broke himself in the rival territory before finding Aaren, who capitalised this time to make it 3-0.
Goan FC hardly gave any chances to their opponents in the game.
