At the hour mark, Goan opened their tally when Vincy Barreto made a swift run before curling the ball in the box where Bardez centre-back Vanael Travaso failed to clear the same as the ball travelled to substitute Jovbert who made no mistake to tap the ball home, taking his side in a 1-0 lead.
At the other end, Bardez keeper Swizel Pereira also showed his calibre as he stretched to his limit to block Sarineo Fernandes’s blazing shot. A few minutes later, Goans had another chance to double their lead when substitute Niraj Parekh was in the commanding position to score the goal but the latter saw his shot goes wide with just keeper to beat.
However, in the 86th minute, Goans cemented their victory with the second goal as Jovbert once again showed his smartness when he beat the offside trap and found himself at the receiving end of the long ball from Sezwin Fernandes, who later covered some ground before beating the onrushing Bardez keeper with a smart placement shot, making it 2-0 for the young Guars.
