PANJIM: Goan Warriors Football Club beat Mormagao United Club 5-2 in the GFA U-20 Second Division League, at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Monday.
Ditesh Naik gave the Goan Warriors the lead in the 22nd minute before the Vasco side equalised in the 31st minute through Oscar D’Souza.
The second half was completely dominated by the Warriors as they netted three goals in quick succession through Siddhant Shirodkar, Santesh Pawar and Sadanand Dabolkar.
The Port Town team pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute through Oscar D’Souza. The Goan Warriors added another goal through Diptesh Naik as they completed a five star performance against the Mormugao side.
In another game held at Morjim ground, Dunes SC overcame Goa Velha SC 3-2.
Hussain Walikar scored a goal just before the half time as Sidha Mandrekar and Nahshon Noronha scored a goal each in the 50th and 52nd minutes to give the Dunes side a 3-0 lead.
The Goa Velha team tried hard to comeback in the game but managed to net on two goals through Hemington Fernandes and Mackenzie Figuerido.
