DANDO-BENAULIM: Goan Warriors FC, Tivim shot-out Sai Avtar Anjuna 7-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the 43 rd Cana-Benaulim soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Tuesday.
Nitesh Salgaocar opened the score-line for Sai Avtar in the fifth minute.
Minutes later, Samuel D’Souza doubled the lead for Sai Avtar.
In the second half, Goan Warriors’ Anil’s shot got a deflection of Sai Avtar defender and the ball sailed into the net to make it 1-2.
Minutes later, Chetan Shirodkar levelled terms for Goan Warriors FC, Tivim.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Goan Warriors FC, Tivim netted through Anil, Kunal, Chetan, Salu and Melind while Dinesh, Rohan, and Aniket scored for Sai Avtar Anjuna.
Goan Warriors FC, Tivim will now meet United Club of Nerul in the final on June 30.
