Goan Warriors prove their mettle againt Mormugao SC

MAPUSA: Goan Warriors Football Club scored a huge 5-1 win over Mormugao United Clutural and Sports Club in the GFA’s U-20 Second Division League played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday.

Goan Warriors striker Dikshay Sarap caused most damage to the Mormugao outfit, scoring four goals while Dalesh Pednekar netted in the fifth.
Chetan Redkar managed to reduce the margin for Mormugao.
Four minutes later Dikshay was bang on target when on getting hold of a loose ball he got the better of the advancing Mormugao keeper Jadhav Padeep and slammed the ball home to make it 1-0.
On resumption of play, Dikshay was all over the rival territory and fired in as many as three goals in six minutes in the 53rd, 55th and 58th minutes respectively to add to the plight on the Mormugao colts.
Mormugao should have reduced the margin in the 67th minute however Chetan Redkar’s strike from the 6-yard box was neatly kept away by the Goan Warrior keeper Salil Chari.
However couple of minutes later Chetan managed to get his name added to the scorers list when on getting hold of the ball inside the 18-yard box he scored through an adroit placement, 1-4.
Towards the fag end of the match Goan Warriors managed to net in their fifth goal when Dikshay sent a defense splitting pass to Dalesh Pednekar who made no mistake to tap the ball home, 5-1.
