Over 75 rugby enthusiasts certified as referees; Goa’s Anish and Peter to be promoted as National Vice President and Development Officer of TRFI

PANJIM: The Stadium 1 Billion Touch Rugby Conference hosted by BanquetSPORTS, Wallpostman and Goa Rugby for the Touch Rugby Federation of India (TRFI) (The National Governing body for the Sport of Touch Rugby in India), officially concluded at a city hotel, on Friday.
The seminar also marked the beginning of India’s vision for the Touch World Cup 2019. Anish Quenim, President of Goa Rugby was promoted as the National vice president of the TRFI while Peter Fernandes, Development Officer of Goa Rugby was promoted as the National Development Officer of the TRFI. They are the first and Goans to hold top positions at TRFI. Over 75 rugby enthusiasts were certified as referees of the sport by John Larkins, President of UAE TOUCH, on behalf of the Federation of International Touch (FIT) (The International Governing body for the Sport of Touch Rugby in the World).
Out of the 75 certified referees, 55 of them were from Goa alone. BanquetSPORTS an International grassroots development, merchandise and hospitality enterprise has signed a four year contract with the TRFI as development partners to spread the sport and develop a culture of sport with the Touch World Cup 2019 in Malaysia being the primary vision.
Meanwhile, Wallpostman, a social media management enterprise has also signed a four year contract with the TRFI as social media partners to manage all the online promotions for the federation and individually for all the States in India leading up to the Touch World Cup 2019 in Malaysia.
In addition to this, Goa has firmly embedded itself as the country capital of information, resource and knowledge for the Sport.
