AGENCIES, GUWAHATI: Goa’s Anura Prabhu Desai won silver in the mixed team championship event, at the 74th Inter State inter zonal badminton team championships, held during the Senior Nationals Badminton in Guwahati, Assam.
Anura represented Railways in the team championship event.
Though, Anura lost her singles match to Aakarshi Kashyap 12-21, 14-21, she came back strongly to win women’s doubles along with her partner Riya Mookerjee. Anura / Riya outclassed Shriyanshi Pardesi / Sneha Santhilal 21-8, 21-8 to take the tie into the decider.
Anura’s team Railways went down fighting 2 – 3 to Airport Authority of India.
