PANJIM: Goa’s Aquila Boom Boom emerged champions in Redbull Four2Score India Nationals futsal at Kochi on Saturday.
The Goa team had earlier won the Chennai City qualifiers and South India regional finals and were among the top eight teams for the Kochi finals. They earned the right to represent India at the world finals in RP Leipzig, Germany.
The team comprised captain Faheez, Mohammed, Valerian Rodrigues, Steven Satarkar, Devendra Pednekar. Sanroy D’Sousa was the manager.
The event is a Four 2 Score, 4×4 futsal with goals in the first and last minutes earning double points, with no breaks and no goalkeepers.
Aquila will be the first-ever team to represent India at the world finals.
