It was the GFA President’s Elvis Gomes turn to reignite the Bandodkar Trophy controversy. Keeping to his word to display it at the charity match, the Bandodkar trophy was not only brought at Duler Stadium but Elvis Gomes in all belligerence invited the fans to check it and click photos.
In a brief address, Gomes said that for 22-long years the trophy was kept in the dark vault of a bank. “Presidents came and went. None bothered. I had the guts to bring it out so that it should be out in the light where alone it can glitter.” Said Gomes adding that Goan Football was getting hurt by such controversies and called upon all to be constructive in assisting the association to do better
