Good show by India’s Boom Boom (Goa)

Victory against Germany, draw with Bulgaria, loss against Romania

PANJIM: India’s Boom Boom (Goa) begun its campaign in Four2Score (4vs4 football) World tournament finals in Leipzig (Germany) in an impressive manner recording one victory, one draw and one loss in Lepzig, Germany, Friday.

Stephen Satarkar stole the limelight in the first match against hosts Germany scoring four goals in Boom Boom’s 5-1 victory. Faheez Mohammed accounted for one with Stephen securing two goals during bonus minute.

The second match against Bulgaria was hotly contested and it ended in a goalless draw. The Goan boys displayed their best small-field 4vs4 football skills – 10 minute rounds – with no goalkeeper, no breaks and with scores during the first and last minute counting double, with barely a second to take a breath. It  is a tournament with a unique format, rewarding high risk tactics throughout.

In the third match, Boom Boom lost to Bulgaria 1-2 after leading 1-0.

India (Boom Boom) are third with 4 points in Group C. New York Bulls are leading with 7 points, followed by Romania with 5 points. Germany are fourth with three points and Bulgaria fifth with 3 points.

The Goa team comprised Faiz, Stephen, Devendra Pednekar, Valeriano Rodrigues, Dishu Singh with Sanroy D’Souza being the manager.
