MARDOL: Gopal Krishna Khandola got the better of FC Divar 1-0 to lift the late Shree Vasant G Naik Trophy, organised by Sniper FC and Akash Boys played at the Cuncolim ground, Mardol on Sunday.
Gopal Krishna netted the match winner in the 5th minute through Prabhakar Shet. Following were the individual awards: Best defender: Gourish (Gopal Krishna); Best goalkeeper: Nikhil Naik (Gopal Krishna); Best half: Rohan Pednekar (FC Divar); Best striker: Siddharth (FC Divar); Final’s first scorer: Prabhakar Shet (Gopal Krishna)
The winners bagged Rs 25,000 and a trophy while the runners-up had to be content with Rs15,000 and a trophy.
Sarpanchof VP Laxmikant Khedekar gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Cuncolim Panch Harsha Cuncolikar and Cuncolim Club President Shrikant, Ashika Gadekar, Dishna Kumar Junior, Saurangi Reddy, Akar Boys president Devendra Akarkar, Sniper FC President Sandeep Naik and Vice President Rohidas Akarkar.
