PANJIM: Government College of Arts Science and Commerce, Quepem emerged champions in the boys and girls categories in the Inter Collegiate Athletics Championship organized by Goa University, recently.
The boys team successfully defended the title whereas the girls team bagged the championship for the third successive year.
The college altogether bagged 21 medals including eight gold, eight silver and five bronze.
Sameer Gaonkar was the decathlon champion while the heptathlon championship was bagged by Macrena Dias. The boys and girls teams also bagged the gold medal in 4×400 mtrs relay race respectively.
The boys team included Sameer Gaonkar, Vincy Fernandes, Rohit Velip, Leo Fernandes, Manjunath Dodamani, Peres Carvalho, Nehal Gaonkar and Franky Fernandes while the girls are Macrenna Dias, Pratiksha Gaonkar, Sonal Gaonkar, Anita D’Costa, Kiro Pricill and Kamakshi Dhuri.
