In an absorbing match, Curtorim school managed to hold Sanquelim school which comprised of 11 Sesa Academy Boys to a goalless draw in the first session of play.
On crossing ends, the Sanquelim lads came with repeated raids on the rival citadel, where finally in the 65th minute they were awarded a free kick on just outside the penalty box. Jowel Fernandes sent a superb curling free kick to overlapping Ashley Cardozo who tapped the ball into the goal, 1-0.
The winning team received cash prize of Rs 50,000 and gold medals.
Coach Ajay Acharya praised his Sesa Goa academy boys for their outstanding performance, as they made Govt HSS proud to qualify for the All India Reliance Foundation Youth football tournament to be held at Mumbai in December.
