PANJIM: Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School defeated MES Higher Secondary School by six wickets in the Goa Cricket Associations’ President Cup inter-higher secondary school cricket tournament at MCC ground, Margao, on Saturday.
MES Higher Secondary School won the toss and elected to bat scoring 115 runs losing four wickets in 18 overs. Yogesh Naik missed out on half century by three runs remaining 47 n.o.
He was supported by Sahil Knot 28. Heramb Parab 2/18 and Vicky Madar 2/34 managed to do some damage to rival batting line up.
In reply, Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School lost four wickets but scored 117 in 15.2 overs. Nagappa Konur 45, Sampath Raikar 27 n.o., Rahul Jiddi 18 n.o. were at their best holding the fort while providing the team much deserved vivtory.
Vikas vishwakarma 2/27, Yogesh Naik 1/12, Rohit Yadav 1/9 and Rohit Naik 1/10 tried their best to contain the rival batsmen.
