GSF hails transfer of sports secretary

PANJIM: The Ministry of Personnel and Training, Govt of India transferred IAS Ashok Kumar to Delhi, who was holding the post of Secretary (Sports) for over a decade and held additional charge as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Goa. 

The matter pertaining to corruption in sports in the State was taken up with the Chairman, Central Vigilance Commissioner, Delhi on several by the Goa Sports Foundation, says a release.

During the Lusofonia Games 2014 in Goa, the Chinese govt donated a Wushu platform along with equipment worth around Rs 40 lakhs.

Reportedly, the Custom Exemption Certificate (CEC) was issued by Goa government. 

However, after the Games, the items were shifted overnight and re-assembled in the Godwin Public School, Meerut, UP which is against the CEC Rules, the release adds.
