CURCHOREM: Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem thumped Immaculate Conception High School, Paroda 3-0 to book the final berth in the U-17 boys Subroto Mukherjee football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Tilamol panchayat ground, on Friday.
There was no score at the lemon break.
The session continued with both the teams attacking each other goal regularly but without success even after having equal number of opportunities.
Post resumption Guardian Angel began in the right earnest and pushed Immaculate Conception on the defensive and in the 49th minute Guardian Angel managed to take the lead with neat placement through their striker Movin Carvalho.
Stunned by the setback, Immaculate Conception went all out to neutralise the deficit but to no avail as they could not get past the rival defenders who stood tall in protecting their slender lead.
As the match progressed Guardian Angel increased their pace and troubled the rival defence with well-orchestrated raids which added one more goal to their tally mid way in the second session through striker Lawren Fernandes.
Finally, all the hopes for Immaculate Conception shattered when striker Lawren of Guardian Angel drove the final nail into their coffin at the fag end.
In the final Guardian Angel will clash with Pope John XXIII High School on July 30.
