CURCHOREM: Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem downed Immaculate Conception High School, Paroda 3-0 to book their place in the final of Subroto Mukherjee U-17 boys football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at panchayat ground, Tilamol, on Tuesday.
The session started with both the teams attacking each other goal regularly and in the 20th minute Guardian Angel got an opportunity to open their account through a powerful shot by Jameson.
Stunned by the setback, post resumption Immaculate Conception went all out to neutralise the deficit but to no avail as they could not get past the rival defenders who stood tall in protecting their slender lead.
Continuing with their defensive game, Guardian Angel in the right earnest managed to double the score through the striker Milton and pushed Immaculate Conception on the defensive but as the match progressed, Guardian Angel increased their pace and troubled the rival defence with a well-orchestrated raids which added one more goal to their tally through striker Asher in the dying minutes.
In the other semi-finals, Our Lady Mother of Poor High School, Tilamol defeated Damodar Higher Secondary School, Gudi-Paroda via a tie-breaker and will lock horns against Guardian Angel HSS, Curchorem in the final on July 26.
