MARGAO: A first half strike by Mansuh Oliveira helped Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem overcome Ambelim Sports Club 1-0 and cruise into the semi-finals of St Anthony’s UK Cup Super Soccer tournament organized by St Anthony’s Sports Club, Colva at DSYA ground, Colva.
Both teams exhibited attacking brand of soccer and kept the crowd on their toes. The lone goal of the match came in the 15th minute when Mansuh slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot off a pass from Anthony Dias.
Spurred by the goal, Guardian Angel kept on attacking but the alert Ambelim defence avoided further damage.
