AMBELIM: Guardian Angel SC blanked Vasco SC 3-0 in the Goa Professional League match held at the Ambelim football ground, on Friday.
Micky Fernandes, defender of Guardian Angel stood solid rock while Yaku Mohammed did well on the forefront. Vasco’s Frank Kouassi and Jaison Vaz combined well to display some brilliant moves but failed to convert any goals.
Three minutes into the match striker, Nicholas Rodrigues shot from close range for Guardian Angel but Vasco’s defender Allen Fernandes cleared the ball to safety.
Vasco’s midfielder Kingslee Fernandes should have found the ball at the back of Guardian Angel net in the 5th minute but the latter’s move was tackled by Micky Fernandes defender of Guardian Angel.
Snedeen Fernandes of Guardian Angel missed a chance to score in the 23rd minute of a beautiful connect by Micky however Sneeden ballooned the shot over Vasco SC’s bar.
In the 40th minute Vasco’s Jaison Vaz shot wide.
A minute into the extra time of the first session, Guardian Angel SC opened the account through Yakubu Mohammed who was prowling inside Vasco’s box, tapped the ball into Vasco SC net off a Nicholas Rodrigues connect.
The second half saw Guardian Angel netting in two more goals however much Vasco tried to keep their defence together they wouldn’t succeed.
Vasco’s Frank Kouassi shot over the cross piece of Guardian Angel SC in the 50th minute.
A open chance was later missed by Yakubu for Guardian Angel SC in the 70th minute.
Nicholas Rodrigues made a clinical finish to further inflate the score to 2-0 for Guardian Angel in the 77th minute of a Perryson Rebello’s connect.
Franck Kouassi’ curler for Vasco SC kissed the rival cross piece and went out of play in the 82nd minute.
Mohammed Yakubu drove the final nail into the coffin after he scored his brace and 3-0 for Guardian Angel SC in the 83rd minute.
