CURCHOREM: Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem, booked their place in the first quarter-finals of Fr Gervasio Pinto Memorial football tournament, organised by Guardian Angel Sports Club, at Figuereido ground, Curchorem on Wednesday.
Guardian Angel got the better of St Rocks YC, Majorda 5-4 via tie-breaker after the teams were involved in a goalless draw during regular time.
Both the teams put up a better display and showed more urgency in their approach but could not succeed in their efforts.
The second half witnessed both teams play more of a defensive game as they play was restricted to midfield.
In the tie-breaker, Guardian Angel proved to better shooters.
In the tie-breaker, Kanchan Kiro, Melvito Fernandes, Austern Fernandes, Raston Costa and Jackson Colaco scored for Guardian Angel while Floyd Fernandes, Ismail Pathan, Royston Goes and Nelton Miranda netted for St Rock.
