PANJIM: Guirdolim Club defeated Fr. Angel Youth Sports Club 2-0 in the Goa Football Associations Third Division League match played at Curtorim ground, on Sunday.
Guirdolim C started the match brilliantly and tried to score from the word go with their strikers constantly at the neck of the rival side.
Their hard work paid off in the 11th minute as Irfan Yadwad opened the scoring for the Guirdolim side.
Irfan netted yet again in the 30th minute to give his side a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Post resumption, trailing by two goals, Fr Agnel YSC tried their level best in order to find a sight of the goal but their hard work was in vain as Guirdolim Clubs defenders guarded their citadel well.
Benny Peixoto and Akram Yadwad of Guirdolim were cautioned by the ref in the second half.
In another match at Raia ground, SCC Loutolim scored a comfortable 3-1 win over St Sebastian Youth Club Fatorda.
Myren Pachecho scored a fine brace in the 20th and 52nd minutes respectively while Brison Fernandes also added his name to the scorers list.
Franoy Furtado scored a consolation goal for the Fatorda side in the 62nd minute.
