RAIA: Guirdolim Club defeated Navelim Villagers Union 4-1 to move into final of Navelim Villagers Union Trophy organised by Navelim Villagers Union at Rosary ground, Navelim, recently.
Alrich Peixito opened the scoreline for Guirdolim Club in the 5th minute. Rizbon Fernandes doubled the lead for Guirdolim Club in the 12th minute.
Guirdolim Club further inflated the lead through Mario in the 15th minute. Clinton Niasso pulled a goal back for Navelim Villagers Union in the 56th minute.
It was Vitoriono Fernandes who netted the fourth goal for Guirdolim Club in the 58th minute.
Edwin Cardozo Zilla Panchayat member presented the man-of-the-match award to Allen George of Guirdolim Club.
Earlier, Canacona Sports Cultural Club thrashed Rossman Cruz Nagao-Verna 4-0 to move into the final.
Canacona SCC went all guns blazing at Rossman Cruz and netted four goals through the efforts of Pralhad Felipe, Melvin Fernandes, Vishal Velip and Rancher Fernandes in the 6th, 44th, 36th and 53rd minutes respectively.
George Barretto, social worker of Navelim presented the man-of-the-match award to Vishal Velip of Canacona Sports and Cultural Club.
Guirdolim Club will now face Canacona Sports and Cultural Club in the final on November 15.
