Guirdolim lift CAC Three Kings Cup

CANSAULIM-AROSSIM-CULEM: Guirdolim Club edged past Navelim SC 2-1 to lift the CAC Three Kings Trophy, organised by CAC Cansaulim, at Dr TB Cunha Sports Complex ground, Cansaulim, on Sunday.
In the eighth minute, Guirdolim’s Darren Fernandes took a header and by seeingthe danger, Navelim’s Americo rose high and headed the ball away to safety. A minute later, it was Guirdolim’s Melvin Carvalho who netted the first goal of the final with a long range shot. 
Six minutes later, Navelim’s Presley Gomes took a shot which went inches over the cross bar.
Guirdolim doubled the lead through Macklon Colaco off a beautiful cross from Darren Fernandes in the 28th minute. Later in the 43th minute, Navelim’s Climax Lawrence was brought down by Mario Fernandes in the penalty area and the Refree Mario Pereira awarded a penalty kick.  In the resultant penalty kick, Climax Lawrence ballooned over the Guirdolim cross bar. 
As the match progressed, in the 52th minute, Navelim’s Danstan Fernandes pulled a goal back.
The winners were awarded Rs 40,000 while the runners-up received Rs 30,000.
Babu Ajgaonkar, Deputy CM and Minister for Sports was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of Anthony Pango GFA Vice president, and Head of Goa referee Franky and other dignitaries.
