MAINA: Guirdolim Sports Club got the better of Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 2-0 to emerge champs in the ICC Rebello inter-village football tournament organised by Maina Sports Club, at St Rita’s Church ground, Maina, recently.
Guirdolim SC dominated the entire match and scored through Mario Fernandes and Irfan Yadvad. Moreno Rebello – ZP member was the chief guest for the function and distributed the prizes.
The winners Guirdolim SC and Runners Don Bosco Oratory were awarded cash prizes of Rs 30,000 & Rs 20,000 respectively.
Individual prizes: Best player-of-the-tournament: Inacio Colaco (Parish Youth Nuvem), First scorer-of-the-final: Mario Fernandes (Guirdolim SC), Best goalkeeper: Oswin Rodrigues (Guirdolim SC), Best half of-the-final: Velton D’Souza (Don Bosco Oratory)
Best player of-the-final: Irfan Yadwad (Guirdolim SC)
