SANGUEM: Gundeabhatt Boys, Sanguem shot-out Bendwada 3-2 via the tie-breaker to win the first inter-ward 5-a-side football tournament organised by Our Lady of Miracles Parish Youth, Sanguem, at Government Sports Complex, Sanguem.
In the well contested final, both the teams played a well balanced and disciplined game making intermittent moves to get the better of the rivals. However, even after the stipulated time which kept the crowd on their toes, both the teams failed to break the deadlock ending the match in a draw.
In the tie breaker, Alister, Milfro and Joseph scored for winners.
The prizes were distributed to the winners by chief guest Romualdo Fernandes, Chairperson SMC in the presence of guest of honour Messiah D’Costa, Youth Congress President, Coordinator Parish Youth Fr. George and Flannery Fernandes.
A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament.
