She secured 8.5 points out of nine rounds with eight wins and a draw to win the gold in under-10 girls category.
Earlier in the rapid section, she scored 5.5 points and was tied for the first position. However, she was declared joint winner and was awarded gold medal. She also won team bronze in the blitz category. In the standard category she finished seventh.
Other Goan player WCM Swera Braganca, Geno Pharmaceuticals brand ambassador playing in the under-12 girls category won medals in standard team gold, rapid team gold and blitz team silver.
The Goa Chess Association has congratulated both the players for winning gold medals for India and wished them good luck in their future endeavours.
Mahesh Candolkar, president of Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association also hailed the medal winners.
