MAPUSA: Goa United Sports Academy continued their winning streak as they overcame 10-man Holiday Sports Club, Arpora 3-0 in GFA’s U-14 league at St Anthony’s church ground, Siolim, Tuesday. Goa United led 1-0 at the break.

After just ten minutes, Akash Munshi struck a shot from outside the box which the Holiday goalkeeper failed to hold on and the ball fell for Dylan Fernandes, who saw his first effort scrambled off the goalline by an alert Holiday defender, but Dylan followed up with the rebound to put Goa United ahead.

Shortly after the breather, Joy Nair managed to get on the end of a long range shot from Akash to double Goa United’s lead.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Daryl Fernandes was sent off for his second bookable offence after charging towards the Goa United goalkeeper Carlton Pereira.

In the last ten minutes, Girish Kalangutkar received a delightful pass from Vincy Fernandes and took the goalkeeper on before placing the ball into the back of the net.

Holiday goalkeeper Gautham Popkar was applauded for making great saves to keep the scoreline down.

At Morjim ground, El Shaddai Sports and Cultural Club shocked Dunes Sports Club by holding them to a 1-1 draw. Neville Fernandes had given Dunes the lead with four minutes left to play, but in the very last minute, a 40-yard last gasp effort from Edwin Viegas ensured El Shaddai picked up a point.
