H Jeho, Diya shine at Sub-Junior National Table Tennis Championships

PANJIM: H Jeho of PSPB Academy and Maharashtra’s Diya Chitale brightened up the final moments when they retained the Sub-Junior boys and girls titles at the 11Sports 79th Cadet and Sub-Junior National Table Tennis Championships organised by Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa, at the SP Mukherjee, Indoor Stadium, on Tuesday.

PANJIM: H Jeho of PSPB Academy and Maharashtra’s Diya Chitale brightened up the final moments when they retained the Sub-Junior boys and girls titles at the 11Sports 79th Cadet and Sub-Junior National Table Tennis Championships organised by Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa, at the SP Mukherjee, Indoor Stadium, on Tuesday. 
Diya also added the Sub Junior Girls doubles gold in the company of Mihika Rohira earlier in the day to benefit the most this season.  
Along with Diya and Jeho, Haryana’s Suhana Saini also kept the cadet girls crown as the three paddlers stamped their authority for the second successive year after winning their maiden national crowns at Siliguri last year. 
Preyesh with five national ranking titles this season, won his maiden national crown in Cadet Boys when he avenged his loss to Havish Asrani of Maharashtra who he had lost to in the team championship. 
He played a clinical game to win the Cadet Boys finals 4-1. H Jeho defeated left-handed Dev Shroff 4-2 in the final after Diya demolished her nemesis Munmun Kundu from West Bengal 4-0. 
In Sub-Junior Boys doubles final, Deepit Rajesh Patil and Dev Shroff of Maharashtra defeated Delhi’s Payas Jain and Arush Dutt 3-2 in a tough match. Goa’s best performance came through Shantesh Mapsekar, India number two ranked, who lost 2-3 in the Round of 32 in Cadet Boys. 
Aarav Aaiyar and Nagesh Verenker lost in the Main Draw Round of 64 in Cadet and Sub Junior Boys respectively. 
MP Singh, Secretary General, TTFI, Dhanraj Choudhari, Advisor – TTFI, Arun Kumar Banerjee, Treasurer, TTFI, Vero Nunes, President GTTA, other TTFI and GTTA officials graced the closing function.
