MAPUSA: Holy Cross Sports Club, Arambol lifted the Xetrapal Soccer Cup by a solitary goal win over St Anthony’s SC Marna, organized by Xetrapal Sports Club, at Oxel ground, on Sunday.
Marna came close to taking the lead in the 13th minute, however, Joel’s pinpoint free-kick missed the target narrowly.
The only goal of the match came in the 27th minute when Arambol’s Stepelthon Fernandes curled in a 25-yard free-kick to the far corner of the Marna goal.
After the lemon break, Marna tried their level best to come back into the match, however they failed to find the goal till the very end.
HC Arambol went home richer by Rs 50,000 and a trophy while St Anthony’s Marna had to be content with Rs 30,000 and a trophy.
