MAPUSA: Holy Cross Arambol scored an impressive 6-0 win over FC Siolim in the GFA’s Second Division League match, at Duler Stadium, here, on Monday.

Arambol went into the breather with a comfortable two goal cushion.
Arambol got into the attacking mode right from the word go and surged ahead in the 28th minute when Jason Fernandes on getting hold of the ball, weaved his way past the defenders as well as the keeper and placed the ball into the open goal.
Siolim could have equalized but Arambol keeper Kewan D’Souza came with a brilliant save to keep away Pushparaj Mandrekar’s strike from the penalty spot.
Matters got worst for Siolim as in the 32nd minute, Arambol doubled their lead when Shashank Ashwekar on getting hold of the ball from Jason Fernandes, fired in a low grounder which left the keeper rooted to his spot.
On resumption, Arambol increased their lead in the 59th minute through Sandesh Sawant’s powerful left-footed strike.
Within three minutes, Hemant Rodrigues put Arambol up by four goals, scoring off a solo effort.
In the last ten minutes, Arambol came with two more goals in the 80th and 88th minutes through Amit Fernandes and Nayan Virnodkar to round off the score tally to 6-0.
