HC Siolim, St Britto advance

MAPUSA: Holy Cross High School, Siolim blanked Mae de Deus High School, Corjuem 3-0 to enter the third round of under-17 boys inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Tivim ground, on Wednesday.

The winners led 1-0 at half time.

Rajesh Jadhav gave them an early lead with a powerful shot while Anselm D’Souza scored a fine brace in the second session.

In the second match, St Britto High School, Mapusa thumped Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao 4-0 after leading by three goals at half time.

Maciel Neil secured a brace while Osmiro Trinade and Ronaldo Carvalho netted a goal each.
