MAPUSA/MARGAO: Holiday Sports Club, Arpora, huffed and puffed before they finally got the better of Peddem Bomm SC 4-3 in the GFA’s Third Division League- Bardez Zone, at Duler stadium, here, on Sunday.
Arpora Club scored three goals in the first session through Pan D’Souza, Gauresh Mandrekar and Sweden Fernandes.
On crossing over, Bhavesh Gawas pumped in the fourth goal for Arpora colts and then relaxed.
In the last ten minutes of the match, Peddem Bomm almost held their over confident rivals by slamming in three goals through Kreepal Dhargalkar, Umesh Mainkar and Altan D’Souza.
At Nerul ground, Silver Sand SC continued in their unbeaten run and registered a 3-2 win over Verem United SC.
Silver Sand went into the breather with a two goals lead with Rushil Velingkar and Mark Mascarenhas scoring.
On resumption of play, Amit Naik managed to reduce the margin for Verem colts, 2-1.
However, in the very next minute, Frezer Fernandes once again gave Silver Sands the lead.
Two minutes before the end of the regulation time Amit Fernandes netted his brace and the second goal for Verem United.
At DYSA Tuem ground, Bhumika Sports & Cultural club managed to hold Badem United by 2-2 margin.
Bhumika unite went into the lead in the 22nd minute with Bablo Harmalkar scoring with a neat placement, 1-0. Just two minutes later Badem side equalized through Fraston Martins to make it 1-1.
On crossing over, in the 61st minute, Bhumika once again increased their lead through the boots of Prasad Sawant to make it 2-1. In the added time, Fraston Martins netted his brace to make it 2-2.
In another match at Dramapur ground, Dicarpale SC scored a fluent 4-0 win over Navelim Sporting Club.
Cindroy Furtado netted a brace while Kevin Furtado and Benny Figueredo also got on the score sheet for the winners.
