MARGAO: A fine hat trick by striker Marcus Mascarenhas helped Holy Cross Mugalli drub Comba Boys 4-2 in the Manuel Figueiredo memorial inter ward football league organized by Kotu Boys of Sao Jose de Areal at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal on Tuesday.
Marcus Mascarenhas opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the match with a neat finish. Jovito Mascarenhas doubled the lead for Mugalli.
Comba Boys showed signs of a comeback when Mariano Rebello reduced the deficit to make it 2-1 at half time.
Post resumption, Holy Cross completely dominated the match. Marcus Mascarenhas struck twice in the second half to complete his hat trick and put the match beyond Comba boys. Ashwin Travassso managed to reduce the margin and keep the score line respectable with a late goal to make it 4-2.
