MAPUSA: Holy Cross High School, Siolim started their campaign in style as they trounced Lourdes High School, Saligao 5-0 in U-14 Boy’s Subroto Mukherjee football (Bardez Zone) at Peddem ground, here, on Thursday.
Sameer Kalvi Kedekar netted a hat-trick, with Anish Goltekar and Avesh Mandrekar adding their names to the scorers list.
In the second match St Clara’s High School, Assnora registered a 2-0 win over Assagao Union High School to move into the quarters. The goals came in the second session through Dattaraj Gaonkar and Akash Kunekar.
Later, St Thomas High School, Aldona thrashed St Thereza High School, Candolim 6-1. Manesh Lingudkar netted a brace while Akshay Parwar did most of the damage by pumping in four goals. Candolim scored a consolation goal through Melwin Menezes.
In the last match of the evening, Kriti Vidhayala High School, Siolim managed to pip St Joseph’s High School, Calangute with a solitary goal scored by Projot Agarwal.
