MAPUSA: Holy Family Parish Youth, Porvorim, emerged champions of the Rebound 5.0 organised by Parish Youth of Assagao, at St Xavier’s College Complex, here, recently.
Eight Parishes participated in the one day meet namely Parish Youth of Porvorim, Anjuna, Corgao, Saligao, Taleigao, Mapusa, Parra and Pilerne. Holy Family Parish Youth, Porvorim, secured the winner’s place, while runners-up spot went to St Francis Xavier’s Parish Youth, Corgao.
Following games were held Badminton, table tennis, basketball, 3-a-side tie-breaker for girls and 4-a-side football for boys.
Chief guest was Lions Club of Assagao President Anthony Fernandes and other dignitaries were Fr Edson Fernandes, parish priest of Assagao; Fr Tony Salema, administrator, Fr Ramiro Luis, assistant professor of Psychology; Fr Luis Gomes, assistant professor of Konkani.
Parish Youth of Assagao’s Executive Committee and event coordinators Cliffton, Valburn, Elisa and Steffie were hailed for their organising efforts, making this event a success. Chenessa de Souza compered the function.
