Holy Spirit Institute pip Rosary HSS, sail into final

Substitute Pushkar Prabhu scores the solitary goal for the winners

FATORDA: Holy Spirit Institute, Margao defeated Rosary HSS, Navelim by a solitary goal to move into the final of the U-17 Subroto Mukherjee Salcete Taluka football tournament organised by DSYA, at Astroturf, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
In the 7th minute, Rosary striker Jobern Cardozo took control of the ball from defender Delzan Passanha and dribbled past Holy Spirit defenders Frazier D’Costa and Vellington Fernandes and shot from close range but keeper Vishal Kumar was equal to the task. 
At the other end, Holy Spirit strikers Mevan Dias and Saideep Pomburpekar had attempts on goal but their shots were well blocked by the Rosary defence line.
It was substitute Pushkar Prabhu who netted the match winner with a power-packed shot off Aditya Salgaocar’s assist in the 28th minute.
In the second half, Rosary tried to level terms through Asfin Pinto, Stewart De Melo, Jobern Cardozo who fired some close ranger efforts but the Holy Spirit keeper Vishal Kumar stood to his ground to save all the moves. 
In another match, Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS, Verna blanked Mae Dos Pobres HS, Nuvem 3-0. 
Alloid Colaco, Kanaiya and Sweton Rebello netted for the winners.
