Holy Trinity Altar Boys scored in quick succession in the 17th minute through Altroy Rodrigues and thereafter in the 23rd minute through Aaron Rodrigues as they went into the half time with the score reading 2- 0.
In the second half, St Alex Altar Boys went on the attack but the Benaulim defence thwarted the danger to keep their lead and heads cool till the end of the second half of the match.
The following were the prizes awarded to First scorer of the final Altroy Rodrigues of Benaulim, Best goalkeeper of the final Vialli Rodrigues of Benaulim, Best defender of the final Crisban Rodrigues of Benaulim, Best half of the final Richie Hilario of Curtorim, Upcoming player of the tournament Macanzy Rodrigues of Curtorim, Man-of-the-Match Anson Fernandes of Benaulim and Best discipline team of the tournament Arlem Altar Boys.
Fr Jose Antonio da Costa, parish priest of Our Lady of Hope church, Chinchinim was the chief guest and Fr Eremito Coutinho, parish priest of Our Lady of Pilar church, Seraulim was the guest of honour.
Fr Jose urged the young boys to inculcate the qualities of St Joseph Vaz and shine in the World with good deeds and good life.
Also present were Fr Mariano Goes Proenca, parish priest of St Alex church, Curtorim; Fr Luis Pinto Lourenco, Curtorim MLA Alex Reginaldo Lourenco, Shalom Sardinha, Curtorim sarpanch and panchayat members and other dignitaries.
In all, 32 Altar Boys team from South Goa participated in the tournament.
