House congratulates rider Allan
State and cash award, job and motorcycle offered

The Goa Legislative Assembly on Wednesday passed a congratulatory motion to supercross motorcycle rider Allan Sequeira for winning the gold at MRF National Supercross Championship recognised by FMSCI (Round One and Two) in Bangalore and Coimbatore recently.
Legislators showered praises on the ace supercross motorcycle rider from Sirvodem, Margao, on his achievements and keeping the State’s flag high at the National level in the sport.
Speaking at the calling attention motion of the Zero Hour of the Assembly, Curtorim MLA, Alex Reginald pointed out that the Goan rider had excelled in the sport having earned the top place recently in two National events. The ace rider also had bagged the silver finishing second in the National Championship in Jaipur.
PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao recalled how Allan was drawn into the sport when he was a teenager. He said that Allan had won in all 25 medals at various National level events and 23 top places in State events over the past 13 years. He is Goa’s topmost rider and as such was worthy of mention, he added.
Victoria Fernandes, MLA said that she knew from the media about Allan’s superb achievements in supercross and that the youngster deserved accolades for the sheer expertise that he had displayed in ample measure, winning gold at national level and a number of medals elsewhere.
Sports Minister, Babu Azgaocar also heaped praises on the supercross expert. Babu was so happy with Allan’s exploits in the sport that he immediately said that the rider would be given the State Award and that he would even be offered a job with the SAG to train the youngsters. A cash award of Rs 5 lakh was also announced while Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat, who also rose to congratulate Allan, stated that since the rider had to depend on an old motorcycle, he ought to be given a new motorcycle so that he could further improve on his performance.
Meanwhile, SAG’s Executive Director, V M Prabhudesai, while congratulating Allan said that the decisions taken in the House would be a great boost and splendid motivation for sportspersons and that the Margao-based rider was shining in the sport for over a decade with his exemplary dedication, hard work and perseverance.
