GUDI-PARODA: Immaculate Conception High School, Avedem–Paroda registered a solitary goal win over St Joseph’s High School, Aquem to enter in the quarter-finals of the late Ramnath D. Volvotkar memorial 2nd All Goa inter-school U-17 boys football tournament organized by “Insight” the Society for Sports, Culture, Youth Affairs & Charity, at Gudi – Paroda ground, on Saturday.
Both the teams were tied at goalless at the breather. St Joseph’s HS missed scoring opportunities through Brian Pinto and Mauven Gomes.
The all important goal of the match was scored by Richard Lima in the 22nd minute of the second session who was assisted by Clifton Fernandes.
St Joseph’s HS tried hard to find the equaliser but fumbled with the chances that were created.
Richard Lima who scored the winning goal was adjudged as player-of-the-match.
