India off to a flying start in Asian Bridge championship

PANJIM: The Indian teams got off to a good start the on-going 3rd Asian Bridge Championship in Panjim, on Wednesday.

PANJIM: The Indian teams got off to a good start the on-going 3rd Asian Bridge Championship in Panjim, on Wednesday.
 In the mixed category, India A team used gained 87. 7 point to achieve the first position.
In the super mix category, India B team consisting of Aparna Sena, Feroza, Finton and Subhash Bhavanani showed the same performance and achieved first position with 100.07 points after seven rounds.
 In senior category, the Indian senior team showed a good thinking power and achieved second position after 7 rounds. 
Previously, in the men’s category, the men’s Indian team were in sixth position but they could not increase their game to go ahead and after seven rounds. The China team put up a good show to move into the sixth round.  In the seventh round, the Australian team put up good game and achieved 112. 85 points and climbed to first place.
In the women’s category, the Australian team showed their mental skills and achieved 89.15 points to maintain the first spot. In this group, India B team went down in sixth position with just 46.96 points. 
In this category, the Chinese Taipei team managed to get 82.24 points which took them to second position. 
Secretary of Bridge Federation of India (SBFI) Anand Samant said, “the Indian teams will participate in the Asian Championship which is going to be held in Indonesia in August.”
