MAPUSA: Institute of Provedoria, Vivian Niwas emerge champions in the 4th Inter-Club Lions Sports Meet for Underprivileged Children hosted by Lions club Mapusa Suburban in collaboration with Lions Club of Assagao, Arpora-Nagoa-Parra, Aldona, Anjuna, Calangute, Candolim, Chodan, Mapuca and Thivim held at St Joseph’s Boys Home, Calangute, recently.
In the boys section, Institute of Provedoria secured 1st place, St Joseph’s Boys Home bagged second place and El-Shaddai Charitable Trust settled for the third.
In the girls section, Vivian Niwas-Siolim emerged champs while El-Shaddai Charitable Trust- Assagao bagged second place and Sister of Adorers-Tivim settled for third. Altogether, 200 children from seven institutions participated in the Sports meet. Chief guest Tony Dias -ex deputy commissioner of customs gave away the prizes in the presence of Guest of Honour Michael Lobo MLA Calangute and other dignitaries.
