IOA delegation arrives to conduct venues inspection

PANJIM: A delegation from Indian Olympic Association (IOA) arrived here today to review the preparations being made by the Government for hosting the 37th National Games in October-November.

During the 3-day visit, the delegation consisting of Amitabh Sharma Executive Member of IOA and Chairman GTCC, Lt Gen Harpal Singh, Bhupindra Singh Bajwa, both IOA Executive Committee and Members of GTCC and Sahdev Yadav, IOA Treasurer will inspect the venues where the Games will be conducted, among them being Nehru stadium at Fatorda, Navelim stadium, Taleigao stadium, Squash and tennis courts and stadiums at Bambolim, Peddem and Campal, Campal swimming pools and some other venues.

The delegation will hold talks with the officials of Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA), Goa Olympic Association (GOA). 

The delegation members stated that the objective of their visit was to take things forward for hosting the Games and to see that Goa can organise these in an electrifying and spectacular manner at the venues which are ready for the event. It will give a boost to sports tourism, they added.
