Iqbal XI beat Sunny Cricket Club by 3 wickets to move into the semi-finals of GCA ‘A’ Division cricket tournament at Dr Rajendra Prasad ground, Margao, on Thursday.
Batting first, Sunny CC were bundled out for 140 in 33.1 overs. Vikas Shetty was the top scorer with 29, Vijay Singh 20, scored for Sunny. For Iqbal, Vinay Balkar was the most successful bowler scalping 3 wickets, Sagar Gosavai and Fayaz Jahari shared two wickets each.
In reply, Iqbal achieved the target scoring 142 for 7 in 29.4 overs. For Iqbal, Tushar Sawant played an anchor role by smashing a half century while Tanna Basawana chipped in useful runs to remain unbeaten on 49. For Sunny, Shermon Vaz claimed 3 wickets while S Moinuddin took two wickets.
