PANJIM: Irfan Yadwad’s hat-trick helped Panjim Footballers defeat St Sebastian Sports Club of Marna 5-0 to enter into the last eight stage of the 17th Police Football cup tournament organised by Goa Police SC (Sports Cell) and played at Duler ground, on Monday.
Panjim Footballers led by 2-0 at the breather. In a one-sided match, Panjim Footballers opened the scoring through Chandan Gawas in the 22nd minute. Irfan Yadwad doubled it in the 33rd minute of the play. In the second session, Panjim Footballers scored three more goals. First in the second minute of the second session, Irfan found the net again. Later, Joyson Gauncar scored the fourth while in injury time Man-of-the-match Irfan completed his hat-trick scoring team’s fifth goal.
